Canadian branding deal unites CIBC, Pioneer Energy, Cardtronics

Cardtronics Canada Ltd. and Canadian bank CIBC have entered an ATM branding agreement that will offer CIBC customers fee-free access to cash at more than 100 retail ATMs at Pioneer Energy fuel stations throughout Ontario.

The deal marks a growing relationship between Pioneer Energy and Cardtronics that began with card processing services and expanded to see Cardtronics become the exclusive full-service ATM provider for the retailer with rights to both current and future locations, said a press release.

The company will provide a complete equipment refresh, replacing ATMs operated by Pioneer Energy with machines owned and operated by Cardtronics.

"Building on our relationship with Cardtronics will help produce additional value-added services from these machines in a cost-effective way, and help us to continue to be market leaders in Canada," said Anthony DiMaulo, VP of marketing and merchandising for Pioneer Energy. "The CIBC branding will enhance our customers' experience at these locations."
