Canada gets first fully EMV chip-and-PIN-certified card payment system

May 10, 2010

YESpay International Ltd. has completed the EMV certification of its EMBOSS card payment service with Chase Paymentech as the first fully-hosted EMV chip-and-PIN payment service in Canada.

According to a press release, the formal certification conducted by Chase Paymentech included end-to-end EMV chip-and-PIN testing with Interac, MasterCard and Visa using the Verifone Vx810 pinpad, which enables YESpay to provide its secure credit and debit card payment acceptance services for retail, MOTO (mail order telephone order) and e-commerce to main street and web merchants in Canada.

"Our generic certification of EMBOSS is a major breakthrough in Canada," said Rohit Patni, executive vice president of sales and marketing for YESpay. "Businesses of all sizes who have been facing in-house system certification issues, including the task of complying with PCI DSS regulations, can outsource their payment processing needs to YESpay who takes on the responsibility, relinquishing a significant proportion of costs and timescale of PCI compliance and bank certification."
