Burroughs check scanner gets UV security feature

Integrating UV camera technology into a SmartSource UV Elite check scanner provides a low-cost device with improved UV image quality, the company says.

Burroughs Inc., a provider of check scanners for the financial community, has added ultraviolet check fraud security to its SmartSource Professional Elite check scanner, according to a company press release.

Integrating Burroughs UV camera technology into a SmartSource UV Elite check scanner provides a low-cost solution to provide improved UV image quality and enhanced fraud detection capabilities, Burroughs said.

"We are seeing a growing demand around the world for ultraviolet check fraud security," said Bruce Young, Burroughs VP of product development, international sales and manufacturing operations. "We are pleased to be able to provide the international financial community new technology enabling low-cost, high quality UV check image capture."

The company said its UV-enabled check scanners meet international standards for processing UV security features on documents. The solution is available in two two-pocket and one-pocket versions.
