Bulgarian card processor launches digital transformation with WAY4 platform

Borica AD, a provider and operator of payments infrastructure for financial institutions in Bulgaria and 30 neighboring countries, has chosen the OpenWay WAY4 digital payment software platform.

According to a press release, OpenWay will supply a full end-to-end card processing solution for both issuing and acquiring, with real-time fraud prevention and detection, and e-commerce, mobile wallet and tokenization capabilities.

The new platform will enable future business growth for Borica, including expanded cross-border services. The WAY4 platform will support local, regional and international card payments, ensure uninterrupted business operations, provide automation of back office processes, and increase speed to market, OpenWay said.

"The project known as 'Borica New Generation' will impact significantly the whole card payment environment in the country," said Radoslav Dimitrov, head of the company's cards and terminals division. "OpenWay managed to cover all our requirements for flexibility, security and business expectations. Today we are confident that this partnership will change the future of card business in Bulgaria."
