BS/2, an international business process-outsourcing company, today announced that it has opened a technical service center in Alytus, Lithuania, the company's sixth inside the country, and the 12th in the Baltic countries.
Tomas Bublys, director of BS/2's technical department, said the technical service centers in Lithuania will reduce to a minimum the risk of down time of the banking equipment the company oversees.
"All of the service centers established in Lithuania are autonomous, and they can offer services not only in their own regions but also in their neighboring regions, which is very important when one of the regional-service centers is experiencing some sort of unexpected problem," he said. Other service centers in Lithuania are located in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai and Panevezys.
According to Bublys, BS/2's subsidiary companies employ 70 certified technical-maintenance specialists who oversee the operations of about 4,000 installations.
"All of the orders relating to the equipment of banks and financial institutions are processed centrally at the Lithuanian office 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, using the business process optimization-module service desk," Bublys said. "This module was created using the recommendations of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library, and it enables the installations to be fully controlled in real-time in countries where the system is installed."
With the help of its service desk, BS/2 manages self-service installations in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Kirgizstan.
BS/2, which is based in Vilnius, specializes in software and hardware solutions for banks and retailers throughout the world. The company is a member of Penki kontinentai group.
