LONDON -- Independent ATM deployer Cardpoint plc, which is listed on the UK's Alternative Investment Market, is to provide hotel group Hanover International PLC with freestanding ATMs in six of its 15 hotels and conference and training centers.
The rollout of these machines will take place over the next few weeks.
Under the deal, Cardpoint will own, install and manage the ATMs and will share a percentage of the surcharge with Hanover International.
Mark Mills, chief executive officer of Cardpoint said that Cardpoint hopes to become a leading supplier of ATMs to hotels.
"With business hotels and conference and training centers in prime locations such as Bristol, London and Oxford, Hanover International benefits from a captive audience where access to cash is limited, but where footfall is high," Mills said in a news release. "Our own research has shown that by providing ATM services within a hotel the cash is more likely to be spent in-house, rather than off-premises."
