LONDON -- British building society Nationwide has an exclusive agreement to provide 400 cash machines for Marks and Spencer PLC, according to a report in the Financial Times newspaper citing Nationwide.
Each of the retailer's 389 stores is expected to have an in-store machine, with two in larger outlets. Nationwide has 900 ATMs, including 150 in non-branch sites such as shopping centers, airports, and gas stations.
Installation will begin in January and is expected to be completed in the middle of next year.
"Marks and Spencer is a well-respected company trusted and used by millions of people in the UK. Their brand is an attractive one to be associated with, but at the present time there's nothing to suggest the two organisations will come together in any formal way," said a Nationwide spokesman.
