Brink's signs deal with NCR's Fluiditi for ink-staining solution

October 24, 2004

LONDON - Fluiditi, a wholly owned subsidiary of NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), has announced a deal with Brink's UK to extend the use of Fluiditi's products, as well as introduce Fluiditi's Carrisafe ink-staining solution, across Brink's UK's nationwide network, according to a news release.

Carrisafe provides end-to-end protection during cash delivery to ATMs. In the event of an attack, the release noted, the Fluiditi system activates a note-degradation system that stains the cash with colored ink, rendering it worthless to criminals. Carrisafe can be used in cash-in-transit vehicles, across pavement and at ATMs, the release added.

Before the deal was signed, Fluiditi's products were piloted in 12 Brink's vehicles, according to the release.

"The solution gives … provides our employees with a greater level of security," said Bill Hoyne, area general manager of Brink's Europe, Middle East and Africa. With this product, we are better equipped to deter attacks and are now able to service sites previously deemed too high-risk."
