Brigham City, Utah, has begun enforcement of an ordinance banning the operation of crypto ATMs within city limits. The city first passed this Virtual Currency City Ordinance on May 7, giving operators until July 7 to comply, according to a report by Cache Valley Daily.
Police had identified two ATMs in the city and informed the operators of the deadline. They confirmed on July 7 that the ATMs had been removed.
Anyone who continues to operate a ATM can be charged with a class B misdemeanor for each day the ATM remains on site.
