Brazil gets its first digital branch with help from Diebold Nixdorf

Saque e Pague, a Brazilian multiple-service self-service network, is partnering with Diebold Nixdorf to create a digital bank branch, according to a press release.

The first of its kind in Brazil, the branch is equipped with cash recycling and video conferencing technologies, 2D barcode readers, and NFC and biometric authentication devices to enable secure consumer experiences.

"The new digital branch is completely built around the consumer experience," Saque e Pague Executive Director Nori Lermen said in the release. "With Diebold Nixdorf's technology and services, we are able to reimagine the consumer journey and introduce new solutions and services to the market."

The new branch will not be staffed with traditional tellers but instead will offer digitalized services that let the consumer decide the level of assistance they require.

Biometric authentication and NFC capabilities add an extra layer of security and convenience for routine transactions, while two-way video services allow the consumer to request assistance for more complex transactions.

Diebold Nixdorf will provide first and second line maintenance services to ensure the highest level of availability for consumers, the release said.
