BP renews ATM agreement with Key through 2006

May 15, 2002

CLEVELAND and LOS ANGELES -- KeyCorp(NYSE: KEY) says it has renewed its agreement through 2006 with BP, that brands ARCO gasoline and ampm convenience stores, to offer Key ATMs in more than 680 ampm stores in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada and Arizona.

While Key's network of more than 930 branches includes Washington and Oregon, it does not have a brick-and-mortar presence in the other three states.

"This arrangement not only allows us to broaden our relationship with existing customers, it also brings the company additional brand exposure and fee-based revenue generation," said Michele M. Mullee, senior vice president of Key Consumer Payment Sales, in a news release.

BP brands ARCO gasoline and ampm convenience stores at more than 1,700 retail outlets in six Western states -- Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Utah. BP, under the ARCO brand, is the largest retailer of gasoline in the western U.S. and the first to launch the gas and convenience store concept in the late 1970s with its ampm stores.
