BMO extends cross-border Allpoint access to private banking clients

August 24, 2017

BMO Private Banking is offering its Canadian clients — that is, high net-worth individuals and families — free access to more than 40,000 ATMs in the United States and Puerto Rico as part of a partnership with the Allpoint surcharge-free ATM network.

"We are thrilled to be able to provide our clients with cross-border ATM access at no charge," John Turner, director of banking, deposits and payments for BMO Private Banking, said in a press release. "Many of our clients spend a great deal of time in the U.S. … and want simple and cost effective cross-border banking solutions. Over 25 per cent of BMO Private Banking households make a withdrawal at a U.S. based ATM. This offer is another big step forward in meeting that need."

Turner said the perk provided "a strong addition" to the FI's all-inclusive Platinum Banking plan, a comprehensive package of banking services that includes a dedicated private banker.
