BECU, PAI partner on surcharge-free ATM access

Payment Alliance International, a provider of retail ATM solutions, and BECU, the largest credit union in Washington, have inked a branding agreement covering 138 ATMs at Rite Aid stores throughout the state. PAI will own and operate the ATMs, which will offer surcharge-free access to BECU members for cash-only transactions.

BECU PAI branding agreementThe agreement creates one of the largest ATM networks in the area, including more than 300 BECU-branded ATMs in the Puget Sound region and 350-plus in other locations across Washington.

"One of our top member requests is to add more ATMs," said Doug Marshall, SVP of digital channel and product management at BECU. "We are pleased to partner with PAI to expand convenient, surcharge-free ATM access to cash for our members at Rite Aid stores."

The new units are expected to be fully deployed in Rite Aid stores at the end of first quarter 2014.

PAI operates one of the largest ATM networks in the U.S., with equipment at more than 60,000 retail locations across the country, including 1,500 Rite Aid stores.

Formed in 1935 to serve employees of The Boeing Company, BECU serves 825,000 members through 40 locations in the Puget Sound region, and holds $11.5 billion in assets.
