April 19, 2010

India's The Economic Times reports that financial-services provider Barclays Global Retail Bank has linked its ATM network to the National Payments Corp. of India's National Financial Switch. NFS, the country's largest network of shared ATMs, connects more than 55,000 ATMs across 38 banks nationwide.

The association would provide Barclays customers access to the ATM networks of other NFS member banks.

NFS is managed by NPCI and experiences an average of 2.7 million ATM transactions per day.
