Atlanta Business Chronicle:Atlanta's biggest banks are circling the world's busiest airport as Hartsfield-Jackson prepares to bid out its coveted ATM contract for the first time in a decade. Banks such as BB&T Corp., SunTrust Banks Inc. and Wachovia Corp. are vying for the contract. "There is an extremely piqued interest in airport banking right now," said Cliff Davis, president of Memphis, Tenn.-based in-store bank consultancy NCBS, a subsidiary of SunTrust Banks. Davis said many financial institutions are turning their attention to airports. Wachovia has held the lease since June 1996, when its predecessor bank, First Union, got the contract. A five-year extension expires at the end of May.
