B2 intros mag stripe card simulator for fleet, loyalty, gift cards

B2 Payment Solutions Inc., a provider of products and services for the payment industry, has announced the B2 Magstripe Card Simulator, a software application that eliminates the need for an actual physical card in testing and certification settings.

The solution is ideal for any business that processes and accepts mag stripe cards, a press release said. The B2 app allows users to store XML images of all their test cards in one place, reducing their physical card inventory as well as the risk of lost or expired cards.

Users also can create their own card images, eliminating the wait for new cards when processors replace cards due to expiry date or primary account number changes.

"Even in the era where EMV cards are being widely adopted, there continues to be a large need for magstripe cards," B2 President Bruce Murray said in the release. "For example, fleet cards, gift cards, loyalty cards and dynamic currency conversion cards will continue to be personalized on magnetic stripes, so it's important that these cards continue to work correctly in terminals and devices that accept them."

The B2 Magstripe Card Simulator application is fully integrated with UL SmartStripe, a probe testing device that emulates magstripe cards. According to the release, the package solution offers a completely automated process that allows the user simply to select the desired card image in the card simulator and swipe or hold the UL SmartStripe in the slot of a card acceptance device to process a mag stripe transaction.
