AT&T has certified the NetComm Wireless 4G WiFi M2M Router for deployment in the U.S..

According to a NetComm press release, the industrial-grade NTC-140W-01 brings the coverage, speed and performance of AT&T's 4G LTE network to market segments that manage large amounts of data from bandwidth-intensive M2M applications.

The router supports high data rates and features two gigabit Ethernet ports and high-speed WiFi along with vehicle voltage support, GPS and ignition input for mobile assets. It also features built-in VPN clients and automatic failover to 3G outside of 4G coverage areas, the release said.

The embedded NetComm Linux OS and software development kit support the installation of custom software applications to the onboard memory. A mountable polycarbonate and rubber enclosure suits deployments requiring a rugged and temperature-tolerant solution.

"The AT&T-certified NTC-140W-01 heightens business confidence by providing superior performance and business continuity while sustaining mission-critical M2M deployments over the long term as 2G networks are gradually decommissioned to make way for the new wave of 4G LTE," said NetComm CEO and Managing Director David Stewart said in the release.
