ATMs in Dutch villages increasingly targeted by bombers

July 10, 2012

Increasingly, small Dutch villages are becoming targets for ATM bombers who blow up the machines and leave villagers without access to cash.

A story at nisnews said that residents in 16 villages had lost their ATM machines as a result of "bomb-cracks."

A total of 113 such crimes was recorded last year by The Netherlands Banking Association, an increase of more than 20 percent over 2010, with smaller villages most often falling victim to the attacks.
