BROOKINGS, S.D. - The ATM Industry Association announced its plans to host the Sept. 13-15 ATM Security in the Americas 2006 (ATMIA West) conference in Scottsdale, Ariz.

According to a news release, the conference's focus includes industry best practices and fighting fraud with today's technology.

Topics include:

  • What are today's biggest security threats to the industry?
  • Financial-services insider fraud solutions
  • PIN fraud
  • Fraud updates from Latin America, Canada and the United States
  • Solving the problem of skimming

For complete conference details, please visit ATMIA's Web site.

With identity theft and card fraud costing the financial-services industry millions of dollars each year, financial institutions and independent deployers need to develop industry best practices and multichannel strategies for security, according to ATMIA.
