The ATM Industry Association has announced a new service that will deliver compliance monitoring and regulatory alerts to United States chapter members in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
ATMIA management and members with expertise in compliance and regulatory issues have compiled a list of crucial concerns for ATM operators and owners — ATM licensing, surcharge restrictions, security requirements, ADA, EBT/TANF restrictions, and more. Information about these and other issues is now consolidated at a customized web portal accessible to ATMIA members.
"The ever-increasing regulatory burden on our members makes it more and more difficult to stay in compliance — particularly for operators who do business in multiple states," said ATMIA USA Executive Director, David Tente. "We've put together an association-based service that would be very costly for any one member to implement on their own."
In addition to access to state-by-state compliance profiles, ATMIA members can sign up for regulatory alerts. One example of such an alert is a rule change issued for the licensing of ATMs in the state of New Jersey.
The New Jersey alert described the proposed rule change, noted the deadline for public comment, and provided a link to rule language. Alerts are typically emailed to all subscribers within a day of the information being published to the state register.
"[This] will be a valuable service for our sponsored clients and [will] assist them in being properly informed on regulations governing ATMs placed anywhere in the United States," said ATMIA member Betsy Bohlen, who is vice president at Pueblo Bank and Trust. "This member benefit is truly one that ATM providers will utilize to remain compliant with local jurisdictions."
The service is provided to ATMIA through Stateside Associates, a firm specializing in state and local government affairs.
