ATM networks in Cambodia flourish, despite global economic crisis

China View:Despite concerns over the impact of the global credit crunch on local financial institutions, Cambodian banks are expanding their networks of ATMs. The president and chief executive of ACLEDA Bank says growth of ATMs has boomed in the last few years, as living conditions improve and greater progress is made in modernizing the kingdom's bank sector. In 2007, ACLEDA had 20 ATMs. Now the bank has 60 and plans to reach 100 ATMs by the end of this year. And Canadia Bank, another Cambodian bank, operates 48 ATMs throughout the country, up from 25 in 2007, and plans to have 60 ATMs by the end of 2009.     Click to continue
