ATM Marketplace parent to launch digital-signage site

January 7, 2007

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - NetWorld Alliance, publisher of business-to-business trade news and information, is expected to launch a new site dedicated to the expanding market of digital signage.

According to a news release, the site is slated to launch March 1. A semi-weekly e-mail news alert will launch at the same time.

The industry media portal,DigitalSignageToday.com, will provide news coverage, case studies, white papers and other types of content about dynamic digital signage.

James Bickers, the editor ofSelfServiceWorld.comandKioskMarketplace.com, will edit the site full time in February.
"Few deployments in customer-facing technology right now are more exciting than digital signage," said Bickers. "The combination of screen technology, price drops, competition and media savvy have set it up to become the biggest thing in years."
A Frost & Sullivan report notes that by 2011, the North American market for large flat-panel displays for use in signage applications will be worth more than $3.5 billion. The digital-signage market today represents $800 million annually, the report says, with more than 430,000 displays sold for use in signage applications.
NetWorld Alliance adds DigitalSignageToday.com to its family of media. The company publishes Web sites and magazines about ATMs, including ATM Marketplace, self-service technology such as kiosks and self-checkout, and foodservice markets such as pizzerias, fast-casual restaurants and quick-service restaurants.
"We are at our best when we identify new technologies and trends and bring aboard the best journalists in the industry to help cover them," said Dick Good, NetWorld's chief executive. "With digital signage, we have once again found a market poised to do fantastic things, and look forward to sharing its news with deployers, helping them grow their businesses with it."
