This gives a scary new meaning to "cutting in line": Earlier this month, a man was stabbed after he jumped to the head of the line at an ATM in China's Zhejiang Province.
According to a report at AsiaOne, the line-jumper cut in front of a young woman and her male companion and proceeded to use the ATM, which was located in a glass booth with a door.
The line jumper ignored a request from the woman's friend that he leave the booth. An apparent appeal to a nearby security guard also failed to draw a response. A CCTV camera then captured the man pulling a knife from his pocket, climbing over the glass enclosure and stabbing the line-jumper in the back (CCTV stills are at AsiaOne.)
The woman and security guard pulled the man with the knife from the top of the enclosure. The line-jumper continued with his ATM transaction, then made a call from his mobile phone, bleeding profusely all the while, The AsiaOne story said. His current condition is unknown.
