ATM Industry Association calls for unity in 2018

January 18, 2018

The ATM Industry Association has said that 2018 will be a pivotal year for the ATM industry, and CEO Mike Lee has called on the industry members to present a unified front to protect their interests.

"2018 promises to be a turning point for the worldwide ATM industry," Lee said in a press release. "There is huge consensus and momentum behind the future-proofing exercise of the industry's search for a new model for ATMs in today's mobile world. At the same time, the industry has no option but to stand together to face down the threats of attack from ATM and cybercriminals."

As part of this effort, Lee urged ATM stakeholders to back the association's conference schedule, particularly in Europe, where RBR and ATMIA now hold competing events after ending their longtime partnership in 2016.

The association will kick off this year's event schedule with the ATMIA US Conference 2018, Feb. 6–8, at the Wynn Las Vegas, and will host additional industry events this year in Toronto, London, Sydney and Madrid.
