April 20, 2006

SYDNEY, Australia - As new ISO ATM markets open in countries like Japan, Indonesia and China, the ATM Industry Association is hosting its second annual "ATMs in Asia" conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The conference, slated for May 16-17, will explore ATM growth prospects for the Asia-Pacific region.

"'ATMs in Asia 2' will look at the powerful growth prospects for both ISO ATMs and bank ATMs in Asia," ATMIA chief executive Mike Lee said.

International speakers from Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Japan, Korea and the United Kingdom will provide insights, guidelines, data and ideas, all of which are expected to prove invaluable for staying in touch with the changing and evolving ATM industry in critical Asian markets.

The program includes presentations from Visa Asia Pacific, Citibank, GRG Banking, Retail Banking Research, Link Interchange Network, E-net (Japan), Nautilus Hyosung (Korea), ACI Worldwide and G4S Holdings Ltd. (Hong Kong), to name a few.

Official ATMIA industry training about ATM lifecycle security and international corporate governance also will be provided. And Visa Asia Pacific will host a PIN security workshop May 16.

"The purpose of this industry event is to strengthen and enhance the industry through sharing international best practices and case studies of technological developments and business successes, through collectively fighting fraud, through looking together at new market trends and opportunities," Lee said.
