Ascert, provider of the VersaTest automated testing software product line, has expanded its capabilities for ATM interface and operability testing.
In partnership with Cashware, Ascert has combined backend and user interface ATM testing in an end-to-end solution that uses Ascert's VersaTest technology for message processing and network-host simulation while running the actual ATM application within Cashware's ATMirage. This allows financial institutions to test all aspects of ATM operation, according to a news release from Ascert.
"We recognize that the ATM is still a primary point of interaction between a bank and its customers, and it represents a significant point of commerce," said Ascert Managing Partner Rob Walker. "Ensuring accuracy of the transaction is of paramount importance, but how the banks' customers interact with the ATM is of equal importance. Ensuring that the experience the customer has with the ATM application is error-free ensures a free and accurate flow of information from A to Z."
The solution allows testing of ATM and kiosk applications adhering to the CEN/XFS, J/XFS or Xpeak standards — without the need for physical hardware. The end-to-end tests, which can include payments network and host components, are orchestrated through the VersaTest Automator platform. Full quality center integration is also available, extending the new testing capabilities deeper into the enterprise.
