ARCA outfits Suncoast Schools FCU mobile branch with cash recycler

October 15, 2013

Florida's largest credit union, Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union, with $5.4 in assets, has upgraded the cash recycler in its mobile branch with the ARCA CM18 cash recycler. The mobile unit is used for disaster recovery, visits to select employee groups, school visits and community events.

The ARCA CM18 automatically counts, authenticates and safeguards deposited cash. The technology eliminates the need to count cash at the teller line and the vault, which typically consumes two to three hours of a teller's time each day, an ARCA press release said.

Also, the company said, the CM18 improves teller accuracy, reduces member wait times and lowers staffing requirements.

"Upgrading to the new cash recycler has allowed our team to provide the same level of service that members expect at a branch, but at our mobile branch," said JoAnn Allen, teller operations manager at Suncoast Schools FCU.

ARCA has worked with Suncoast for more than a year to upgrade teller cash dispensers to teller cash recyclers in the FI's 53 traditional branches — and now the mobile branch.
