DALLAS - A new shopping card available from 7-Eleven convenience stores gives consumers the power to make purchases anywhere American Express cards are accepted, including online retailers.
7-Eleven Inc. and American Express Co. have introduced the card, which can be purchased at 7-Eleven store counters in values from $25 to $1,000. Buyers pay a four percent fee above the card's value.
The companies are targeting consumers who want to shop online who may not own or want to use their personal credit cards. The 7-Eleven Internet Shopping Card is also being touted as a new way to purchase gift certificates. The cards may be reloaded with additional value at 7-Eleven stores.
