Ameriabank, CR2 team to deliver omnichannel banking experience

CR2's BankWorld platform will allow Ameriabank to offer advanced banking services 24/7 through any self-service channel, the company says.

Ameriabank, an Armenian FI, and CR2, an Irish company specializing in financial services software, have entered an agreement to introduce a new BankWorld omnichannel banking platform at Ameriabank.

According to a press release, the BankWorld platform will allow Ameriabank to offer advanced banking services on a 24/7 basis through self-service channels including ATMs, kiosks, the Internet and mobile banking.

These banking channels will be unified on a single platform to offer customers standardized access to all services on the device of their choice.

The system provides a number of self-service features that will be new to the Armenian banking sector, the release said. The BankWorld omnichannel platform will:

  • automatically match the self-service banking device or remote channels and the product offered to the right client segment, ensuring relevant and individualized service;
  • transform ATMs into personalized service points where customers can manage accounts, submit orders and application forms, and execute transactions that previously were restricted to Internet banking;
  • improve the capabilities of the bank's Internet and mobile banking channels to offer a wider range of transactions;
  • perform person-to-person payments via Internet, mobile and other self-service touch points using the recipient's phone number or other authentication data. This will allow ATM users to withdraw cash without using a payment card. 

The BankWorld omnichannel banking platform will be implemented progressively over the next year, the release said.

"This initiative is aimed at fulfillment of one of Ameriabank's strategic goals — offering our clients [a] fully fledged package of modern self-service and remote banking solutions by using cutting edge technologies," said Artak Hanesyan, chairman of the Ameriabank management board. "This new software will open new horizons for remote banking and self-service software users and contribute to the development of remote banking culture in Armenia."
