Alaska USA FCU doubles ATM footprint via Cardtronics branding deal

The branding agreement covers more than 200 Cardtronics-owned and -operated ATMs at retail locations in Washington state and California's High Desert.

Alaska USA Federal Credit Union and Cardtronics Inc. have partnered to offer members of the FCU surcharge-free access to more than 200 Cardtronics-owned and -operated ATMs at retail locations in Washington state and California's High Desert.

The new branding relationship will increase the number of surcharge-free ATMs available to Alaska USA members to nearly 400. The contract will include Cardtronics ATMs in many Walgreens and Safeway locations in Washington, as well as selected retailers in California.

“Our relationship with Cardtronics helps us deliver better service to our members with surcharge-free ATM access in retail locations they’re already regularly visiting,” said Brian E. Wolf, executive director of retail financial services at Alaska USA. “In addition to saving them money on surcharge fees, we’re making accessing their accounts even more convenient.”

Alaska USA is among the 20 largest credit unions in the United States, with $5.6 billion in assets and branches in Alaska, western Washington and California.
