Alaric, E-Global implement new switching solution in Mexico

Authentic, the open payments platform from Alaric, is assisting Mexico's largest payment network to process seven million daily transactions.

E-Global, the largest electronic payments processor in Mexico, has implemented the Authentic payments transactions platform from, Alaric, an NCR Corp. company. The solution allows E-global to create rules that enable faster validation, more consistent data and better visibility into the validation process, a press release said.

Authentic, a software platform for switching and payment authorization, can route transactions between multiple acquirers, issuers, networks and other switches, and supports a complete range of POS devices and terminals.

As a payments engine for global networks, banks and large processors, Authentic has achieved in excess of 10,000 transactions per second in benchmark tests. The solution combines flexibility of deployment with efficiency of processing, the release said.

To find its replacement switching technology, E-Global, which is jointly owned by by BBVA Bancomer, CITI Banamex and HSBC, worked closely with the system delivery and service provider Stratus Technologies Mexico.

"We have found Authentic to be a unique and powerful solution that easily meets our need for performance, and fits perfectly into our business," said E-Global CIO Felipe Villegas. "The product itself is exactly what we need. The local support has been excellent. The only question is why we didn't adopt it sooner."
