Alaric Authentic adds support for DB2, Microsoft SQL

Fraud prevention and payments solutions provider Alaric has updated its Authentic transaction processing solution, incorporating new features that include ATM functionality upgrades and broader database support.

In the new version:

• support for additional databases — IBM DB2 and Microsoft SQL;
• new ATM device support functionalities such as cash and check deposit;
• new settlement functionality;
• extended authorization functions incorporating recent customer requests;
• new capability in ATM device support such as cash and check deposit;
• extended "off the shelf" card scheme and network message configuration; and
• Microsoft active directory support allowing integration with corporate security services.

The Authentic EFT authorization and routing system manages transactions from all channels across the enterprise, from ATM and POS to e-commerce and mobile. The software offers card management functionality and is highly scalable and robust, achieving in excess of 10,000 transactions per second in performance tests.

"For Alaric, product releases are about extending the core functionality and making available the best customer configured items from recent projects," said Alaric CEO Mike Alford.

"We know that many [customers] want to have a choice of database, so we have delivered support for DB2 and SQL. Our customers have been asking for a settlement solution, Authentic now offers that. In addition, the 250 other enhancements and updates will all make the system even easier, faster, more efficient, more scalable, and more robust than ever before."

Existing users of Authentic who wish to implement the upgrade will receive the new version at no additional license cost. Older versions have not been 'sunsetted' so users will have the option to remain on older systems until they feel the time is right to upgrade.
