The National Bank of Abu Dhabi, one of the UAE’s largest bank networks, is the first financial institution in the Middle East to select the NCR SelfServ 91, a new hardware platform, which NBAD will use in its branch transform effort.
Paired with next-generation NCR Interactive Banker software, the SelfServ 91 can complete up to 90 percent of typical teller transactions. The system connects in-branch employees to real-time customer and transaction data via tablet PCs. The solution allows staff to move freely around the branch, assisting customers as needed.
“NCR’s new branch transformation technology helps bring tellers and all of their equipment out from behind the counter and allows them to interact with customers in an open environment, while retaining the human touch," said Abdulla Al Otaiba, NBAD senior managing director of retail and commercial for the Gulf region. "This helps to us improve efficiency, enhance customer experience and increase sales.”
“The roadmap to branch transformation begins here," said Habib Hanna, NCR Corp. managing director for the South Gulf and Pakistan. "[A]dditional software will unlock even greater capabilities as financial institutions move their associates into the open to directly interact with consumers and provide in person assistance, similar to what we experience while shopping or checking in to the airport.”
National Bank of Abu Dhabi operates a network of 125 branches and offices and more than 585 ATMs across the country. Internationally, the bank operates about 60 branches and offices in 18 countries from the Far East to the Americas.
