April 9, 2002

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Concord EFS, Inc. (NASDAQ: CEFT), operator of the STAR network, says that ABN AMRO North America has signed a long-term participation contract with STAR for access and gateway processing services.

Based in Chicago, ABN AMRO North America, with assets of $90 billion, is the holding company for LaSalle Bank N.A. with retail offices throughout the Chicago metropolitan area and Standard Federal Bank, N.A. in Michigan and Indiana.

ABN AMRO's network of approximately 1,400 ATMs, which includes more than 450 ATMs in Illinois that were previously part of Concord's Cash Stationnetwork, adds more than 925 ATMs in Michigan and Indiana that will boost STAR's presence in those states.

Edward A. Labry III, Concord president and STAR chief executive officer, said in a news release that ABN AMRO's participation will strengthen STAR's presence in the Midwest, especially in Michigan.

ABN AMRO expects to begin adding the STAR brand to its ATMs and cards this year.
