5th annual survey asks US IADs to air their concerns

The 5th annual study seeks to identify and address US IADs' most pressing concerns in the areas of government legislation, regulatory compliance and competitive challenges.

The ATM Industry Association and Kahuna ATM Solutions have partnered once again to conduct the annual U.S. IAD survey, and are calling all U.S. IADs to participate.

"I encourage all U.S.-based IADs to take a few minutes to complete the survey," said Kahuna ATM Solutions President Bryan Bauer. "It's important our voices be heard; that our concerns and issues be brought to light; and [that] we work together to protect the future of our industry."

This year's survey covers IAD concerns that include legislative and compliance challenges, competitive threats, EMV migration, mobile and contactless payments, ATM product and service trends, and the future of the ATM business in America.

The full report on survey results will be shared on Feb. 18 in a session at the ATMIA U.S. Conference and Expo at Caesars Palace Las Vegas. In a panel discussion moderated by Bauer, industry leaders will address survey results and offer suggested approaches to the top IAD concerns.

"Surveys like this help us to hear the heartbeat of our members," said ATMIA U.S. Executive Director David Tente. "The data collected will help us shape the association's strategy for 2015, including what types of white papers and best practice materials we produce for our members."

Last year's survey identified EMV migration, reductions in interchange, and surcharge restrictions as the chief legislative and compliance concerns among IADs. Declining transactions, ATM saturation and keeping up with changing technology were their top competitive concerns.
