They've got a very, very long way to go to achieve the ubiquity of an automated teller machine, but Bitcoin ATMs are gradually increasing their numbers across the U.S.
According to a report by FxPips.com, the current total of Bitcoin ATMs coast to coast (plus Hawaii) is 51.
California and Texas have nine each, but based on units per capita, they don't even make the list of the top five states; New Mexico, with just one Bitcoin ATM but a relatively small population, claims the top spot.
