ATM software stands at a major crossroads. Many operators are playing catch-up with Operating System end-of-life updates. On Oct. 14, 2025, Windows ended support for Windows 10, with no more security or feature updates, which makes ATMs still running on Windows 10 or earlier versions vulnerable. There's also growing interest in AI for more advanced software features, like smarter security, or personalized experiences or even smarter cash management.
Annually, ATM Marketplace has partnered with KAL ATM Software to provide an in-depth report on the current reality of ATM software and future predictions for the industry, known as the ATM Software Trends Report. Financial institutions, independent ATM deployers, technology/service providers and others in the ATM industry can participate in this report by taking the 2026 ATM Software Trends survey. The survey will cover a number of topics, such as:
This survey will offer a "temperature check" on the biggest trends in the industry, and will be paired with expert insights in the final report. Those who take the survey will get a chance to win one of three $100 Amazon gift cards as a prize draw. In addition, respondents will receive an invite to a webinar analyzing some of the biggest findings of the report with KAL, ATM Marketplace, and other experts.
The ATM Software Trends Report will launch in Q4 2026. The survey closes on June 5.
