Symstream Technology Group Limited, a worldwide leader in wireless-technology, has been awarded a deployment contract to install Symstream enabled wireless ATMs to Mandiri Bank’s extensive ATM fleet.

As the largest bank in Indonesia in terms of total assets, loans and deposits, Mandiri Bank is currently implementing an ambitious technology and marketing drive to upgrade its retail customer banking operations across the archipelago. According to a recent press release, the publicly-listed company had decided to earmark 30 percent of this year’s capital expenditure of US$120 million to upgrade the banks’ electronic banking and IT infrastructure. Mandiri bank has planned to increase its’ ATM fleet by 2,000 units in 2011. Currently Mandiri bank has around 6,400 ATMs nationwide.

Commenting on this significant agreement, OC Harry Pudjiatmoko, Mandiri Bank’s Senior Vice President IT Operations Group adds “Installing Symstream wireless solution across our ATM fleet will enable us to continue to provide the highest quality of service to customers.  Mandiri bank processes millions of ATM transactions annually and the adoption of Symstream will reduce communications costs, significantly increase the speed of transactions and facilitate faster ATM rollouts. This contract represents Mandiri’s continuing strategy to grow market share through the provision of innovative and best of breed technologies which help us reduce total cost of ownership as well as provide superior functionality”.
