Yours for the mere sum of an ATM withdrawal

Among all the potential functions of an ATM, artwork pricing may not be the first that comes to mind. But for setting the MSRP on some contemporary works, it's probably as good as any other authority — a dart board, for instance.

According to an article in Las Vegas Weekly, when Vegas-area artist Jerry Misko put together a temporary gallery exhibit some years ago, he wanted works to be tagged with accessible prices. So he came up with the rule that no piece could cost more — or less — than could be withdrawn in a typical ATM transaction.

Years later, Misko is still putting together his Pop Up ATM exhibits. The latest takes place from now to July 31 at Creative Space in Las Vegas. And prices for original works still range from $20 to $500.
