Woodstock deployers try another music fest

August 12, 1999

Apparently undaunted by the destruction of several ATMs at last month's Woodstock '99 festival, Flash Cash ATM Services of Barrington, Ill. and Access To Money of Chatham, N.J. will deploy three mobile ATMs at a two-day musical event in upstate New York this weekend. Michael Deutsch, president of Flash Cash, said the two companies expect crowds to be tamer at a Bethel, N.Y. concert called A Day in the Garden. The first day will feature country performers, including headliner Reba McEntire. Arlo Guthrie, Melanie and other retro acts will perform the second day. If crowds get too rowdy, Deutsch said, they will shut down and relocate the ATMs. Despite the loss of several Triton 9600 machines and up to $30,000 in cash at Woodstock '99, Deutsch added, "We're really committed to doing these things. There's such a need for it."
