This year, the Wincor Nixdorf house fair will have a new home.
Wincor World will move from Paderborn, Germany, to the A2 Forum in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, about 56 km (35 miles) to the northwest. The fair will be held from October 16 to 18.
According to Achim von Bremen, Wincor Nixdorf VP of global sales and marketing for banking, the move will allow Wincor to achieve an important goal for the trade fair. "[W]e can strategically further develop the trade fair here," he said. "The new site offers an excellent infrastructure as far as the exhibition and presentation opportunities in the forums are concerned."
The A2 Forum provides about 10,000 square meters — nearly 33,000 square feet — of exhibition space. Additionally, the contemporary-design facility features conference rooms with state-of-the-art presentation equipment and modular walls that can be reconfigured for meetings of varying sizes.
The more spacious facility will allow Wincor to expand the exhibition area to accommodate an expanding range of corporate partners, von Bremen said. "Alongside Wincor Nixdorf, more than 30 partners will be presenting their portfolios and thus extending the company's solution expertise. Partners include Giesecke & Devrient, Microsoft [and] Motorola, to name just a few."
Just as importantly, said von Bremen, the larger venue will allow the company to broaden the informational side of Wincor World. "Alongside the exhibition, a distinguished feature of the event is the experience exchange platform through a program of lectures and presentations," he said. Subjects to be covered at the 2012 event include solutions for cash management, the redesign of branches and stores and their processes, extensive security in retail banking, and global services.
Finally, the new venue will provide a comfortable and roomy facility for guests to engage in that essential aspect of trade fair attendance — meeting and greeting. Said von Bremen, "Over more than 10 years the company has developed Wincor World to a very successful industry event where experts and decision-makers from the banking and retailing sectors meet to network."
