ROSWELL, Ga. -- Benchmark Data Corporation has become a North American distributor of Wincor Nixdorf's specialized banking printers.
According to a news release, the announcement follows an agreement for Benchmark to provide a $69 billion West Coast-based bank with 1,700 Wincor Nixdorf HighPrint 4915 passbook printers for deployment throughout its 265-branch network. The agreement marks the largest single sale for these printers in the U.S.
Jack Malinowski, Benchmark's senior vice president, cited Wincor Nixdorf's flexibility and ability to customize its products.
"For our customer, Wincor developers modified firmware to enhance document handling and provide the teller application with some unique controls. Wincor also manufactured the printers in a custom color to match the other workstation equipment deployed at the bank," he said in the release.
Wincor is the only manufacturer that offers a choice of colors. "Image-conscious banks want their technology to be invisible to the end-user and customers in every way. This printer adapts to any banking environment -- technologically and aesthetically," Malinowski said.
With a range of connectivity options including an Ethernet interface, dual teller capability, and downloadable firmware, the HighPrint 4915 is one of few printers that can be supported by Windows generic drivers or by its own Windows driver tested on Windows 98, 2000, NT and XP, according to the release.
Benchmark will also provide service for the HighPrint 4915 and will support banks in their transition from other software and hardware architectures to the 4915. This product is also available to resellers through Benchmark.
