LONDON -- ATM manufacturer Wincor Nixdorf will join the Board of the ATM Industry Association (ATMIA)Europe.
Ian Bain, ATMIA Europe's executive director, said that Wincor's membership will add "strength and knowledge" to the European board. Wincor was already a member of the North American board.
John Ennis, Wincor's director of the UK Banking Division, said that during the past two years Wincor has gained business relationships with most of the UK's major banks and building societies.
"We felt that we needed to join ATMIA to further raise our profile and add the Wincor Nixdorf view to the industry and channel development debates," he said.
The ATMIA membership will also help Wincor gain more exposure to the IAD (indepedent ATM deployer, the British version of ISO) market, Ennis said. Wincor signed its first major deal with a European ISO, the UK's Cardpoint, in October.
Ennis said, "We hope to bring the relevant experts into ATMIA forums and gain access to meet the many organizations who are already members."
ATMIA is the leading non-profit representing the global ATM industry, serving thousands of members across 500 companies, including financial institutions, deployers, manufacturers, and service providers.
