Wincor Nixdorf acquires Banksys third-party services

PADERBORN, Germany and BRUSSELS, Belgium -- Wincor Nixdorf announced it will take over the third-party services business of Banksys, a payment systems solutions provider in Belgium.

According to a release, the merger of the Banksys business with the newly formed, Brussels-based Wincor Nixdorf Services S.A., will allow for Wincor Nixdorf to offer full-coverage service on self-service systems and IT infrastructures effective immediately. It also marks the transfer of 147 Banksys employees to the company, and the assumption of maintenance for Banksys' 1,200 ATMs and its supporting network.

Additionally, the sale of the service business to Wincor Nixdorf Belgium gives the company a Belgian service team already in place to assist customers on a regional basis across the country.

According to the release, Banksys will now concentrate solely on its core business of counterfeit-proof transfer, security and payment systems.
