Wincor melds ATM, postal functions in single unit

October 13, 2003

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Wincor Nixdorf is introducing its ProCash 1500 ATM with built-in stamp vending modules, a compact Web-enabled system specially designed for postal service businesses looking to move cash withdrawals and stamp vending to a single machine.

The machine, presented at last week's PostExpo in Brussels, can print individual stamps and issue books of stamps. For single-stamp printing, the cash tray is replaced by a printer module. Stamp books are issued from an additional cash tray, and one of the remaining trays is used for dispensing cash.

In addition to standard cash and stamp issuing functionality and on-screen balance inquiries, the unit can also be enhanced to offer functions such as electronic purse top-ups/draw-downs and printing of receipts and confirmations. If required, the unit can also include multimedia components plus speaker and headset.

According to a news release, the ProCash 1500 comes with a color LCD display as a standard feature. The withdrawal module is available as a front or rear loader system, and its small size make it suited to locations where space is at a premium.
