AUSTIN, Texas - Wincor Nixdorf has acquired the remaining 49 percent of Wincor AutoTell LLC, a majority-owned subsidiary of Wincor Nixdorf that specializes in the development of software applications and complementary management tools for the domestic and international self-service markets.
According to a news release, Wincor Nixdorf acquired 51 percent of AutoTell Systems in 2000 as part of an ongoing strategy to increase sales, software technical support and market presence in North and South America. The remaining acquisition will continue to strengthen Wincor Nixdorf's self-service offering in the U.S. through Wincor AutoTell's next-generation multi-vendor software solutions.
Wincor AutoTell will now operate under the name Wincor Nixdorf.
The acquisition combines Wincor AutoTell's software development and support expertise with Wincor Nixdorf's software and hardware platforms. Wincor AutoTell's solutions are based on Wincor Nixdorf's ProClassic architecture, which adheres to the latest open standards and provides vendor independence, according to the release.
"Because our business in the U.S. has increased significantly, this strategic investment enhances our ability to deliver innovative and flexible solutions to customers," said Scott Hackl, vice president of Wincor Nixdorf Banking Solutions USA, in the release.
