West Virginia University selected The Huntington National Bank as its official banking partner. The bank will provide exclusive banking products and services to students, employees, alumni and faculty through the partnership, according to a press release.

"WVU plays a vital role in the growth and prosperity of West Virginia, and Huntington is proud to partner with the university as we deliver on our ongoing commitment to strengthening the communities we serve," Chad Prather, president of Huntington's West Virginia region, said in the release. "As the university's campus banking partner, we look forward to continuing to serve and support the WVU community in ways that create meaningful and lasting impact in the region."

The bank will waive maintenance fees for certain checking accounts and release a co-branded debit card. It will also establish an office on the Morgantown campus to provide customer education and assistance. Huntington Bank will invest in students through $250,000 for scholarships, an internship program, and Huntington ATMs.

"The university values campus partners like Huntington who understand the many roles WVU plays in the state," Erin Newmeyer, associate vice president for executive initiatives at WVU, said in the release. "We look forward to working alongside Huntington on banking services and beyond."
