West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey has signedHouse Bill 5353 to regulate crypto ATMs to prevent fraud. In particular, the bill will require crypto kiosk operators to have money transmission licenses and provide written receipts of transactions, according to a report by Yahoo! Finance.
Operators must allow new customers to cancel fraudulent transactions and refund fraud victims. The bill also states that crypto kiosk operators must set daily transaction limits for new users.
"The licensee, in establishing a relationship with a customer and before entering into an initial virtual currency transaction on behalf of or with the customer, shall disclose in clear, conspicuous, and legible writing all material risks associated with virtual currency generally," House Bill 5353 states.
