Wells Fargo is currently developing a virtual assistant called Fargo, which will be able to perform tasks such as pay bills, send money, display transaction details and give budgeting advice. The bank plans to launch it next year, according to a report by CNBC.

The bank is also performing a broader revamping of its digital services, with a revamped mobile app and website set to launch in early 2022. The app will feature a simpler login and will consolidate payment options.

"Everyone lives on their phone, and there's an expectation on how things should work," Michelle Moore, consumer digital head, Wells Fargo, said in the report. "Our clients were telling us that our app was not easy to use, it's not intuitive, there were too many dead ends and clients were getting stuck."
