Wells Fargo ATMs crash for at least the second time this year

The Los Angeles Timesis reporting that Wells Fargo & Co.’s ATM network crashed over the weekend. This is at least the second time this year the machines have stopped operating.

Most of Wells Fargo’s 12,000 ATMs stopped working late Friday afternoon before service was restored at 4:30 a.m. Pacific time Saturday, said Jennifer L. Langan, a spokesperson for the San Francisco-based bank.

On February 7, Wells Fargo’s ATMs also crashed. Langan did not disclose what caused the two crashes.

Wells Fargo operates the nation’s third-largest ATM network behind J.P. Chase & Co. and Bank of America Corp.
